Alicia Farris

Alicia Farris is an award-winning artist who has lived in Springfield since 1993 with her husband and two children. Alicia, who works in mostly watercolor and acrylic, strives to express her passion for color and for the beauty of nature in her paintings. While her work has qualities of realism, she is often more driven by the use of color and light than strictly by form. Her subjects include the beauty of the Ozarks, places that she’s visited, and anything that inspires her for any reason. Alicia also loves to paint portraits of peoples’ homes, businesses, pets or favorite places. She feels that true artists not only look at the world around them, but also are able to convey the personality, spirit, and emotion of what they see.

Alicia received her bachelor’s degree from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and has studied with various renowned artists as George Kountoupis, Marilynne Bradley, Joseph Fettingis and John Fitsgibbon.

Alicia is a currently a member of Springfield Regional Arts Council, Springfield Visual Arts Alliance, Missouri Watercolor Society, signature member of St. Louis Watercolor Society, Springfield Plien Air, Juried member of Best of Missouri Hands and was juried into Watercolor USA 2009 with “Mardi Gras Beads”. Her work is part of nationwide personal and corporate collections.
