About the Alliance:



The Visual Artist Alliance of Springfield, a not-for profit Missouri corporation, began in 1988 with a small group of artists who joined together to advance visual art in the Springfield area, and currently provides its' over 75 local and regional members with opportunities for:

  • professional interaction and mutual learning
  • monthly meetings, with programs and critiques
  • educational opportunities and workshops
  • 6 juried shows and 2 invitational shows per year
  • solo exhibit opportunities in public locations
  • increased contacts within the art community and our membership through a monthly newsletter, the Visual Voice.

If you're thinking about joining the Artist Alliance, feel free to come to one of our monthly meetings:

Meetings are held at 9:30 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month. Refreshments, critique, business meeting, and a program pertaining to artists are offered. Unless otherwise stated in the calendar, meetings will take place in the Fuldner Lounge at the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts, 525 John Q. Hammons Parkway, Springfield, MO.

Workshops are usually held on weekends to best accommodate our membership. Find dates and locations for our workshops, shows, and meetings on our calendar page.

Membership to the Artist Alliance includes:

  • No charged to members for all sponsored juried exhibitions
  • Members have priority registration for all workshops
  • Commission only 10% for artworks sold through VAAS
  • Additional opportunities to exhibit your artworks throughout the Springfield region
  • Annual membership dues only $25
  • Membership in and exhibitions with the Artist Alliance are non-exclusive
  • Monthly networking opportunities

Want to increase awareness about the arts in Springfield?

We are looking for additional commercial venues in the Springfield metro area to exhibit artworks from the Artist Alliance. If you have a commercial space and would like to exhibit new and exciting work from our artists, contact us!

  • There are no rental fees for any of the artwork exhibited
  • You decide the type of work you'd like to show
  • We will manage and set up the exhibit
  • Work will be exchanged periodically to keep your exhibit fresh

You can also help us increase awareness about opportunities for artists in Springfield by making a tax deductible contribution to the Visual Artist Alliance of Springfield.
